It depends on what exactly you want to do. Most facilities will put you through classes, also. If you are wanting to be hands-on and take care of the elderly with their activities of daily living, you would be a CNA. Where I work, that is about a three month course that they do at the facility. If you are wanting to pass meds, you would be a med tech. If you are wanting a position such as DON or a nurse, you would obviously need a nursing degree. My advice would be to call a facility you hope to work at and ask them if they provide classes to help with job positions. I hope this helps you at all.

It depends a lot on the particular facilities in your area and exactly what position you want to apply for. The best idea might be just to call a local facility and ask.
