I think that one way to stay fresh is to occationally “start new.” This could be by completely changing your room around, trying a new curriculum, or asking for a change in grade and/or subject.
If you love teaching kids, you can find a way back to that pure love by starting anew!

Constantly “renew” yourself. Take classes on topics that interest you. Ask colleagues for good books on your subject. I was given a GREAT book for teaching reading to older students and I got completely fired up again. Take on more or different responsibilities at your school. Teach a workshop.
Whatever you do, don’t let yourself get stale or bored. You hate it and so do the students.

keep in mind that teaching is not a mere profession…. but it’s rather a vocation. you must be a friend. a brother/sister, a father/mother, a guidance counselor, a classmate, in addition to being a teacher to every pupil. do not teach to live, but live to teach…trust me… i’m 17 years in the service now..

Hi! I’m still a student right now….and in our case we hate teachers that are not friendly and don’t entertain questions…so I suggest..be open to your students, be friendly with them….well, there are really mean students out there but,.,.just think that in what you are doing ..you are helping them….
