Secondary Classroom Bulletin Boards?

I am looking for ideas for bulletin boards relating to grammar and lit. Does anyone have any ideas or web sites that I can look at. I have moved from 6th grade to high school English and most of my boards from the last 12 years are too immature for 9th-12th graders.

I really hate doing bulletin boards, but my students love it. You can actually make it a class project and divide them into small groups and have them come up with ideas to show what they know about different topics. It can be for a grade, help them learn to work together in groups, and give them more ownership in the classroom. You can also have the kids in your other classes vote on the boards they think should be put up, put some up in the halls, or rotate the displays.

If you give the kids a large piece of paper that can cover the board it will be easy to put them up when they’re done. You might even consider laminating the really good ones.

It takes a few days, but this is a fun activity, and the kids do learn from it.

You can try a teacher store. While most are geared to elementary school, they do have famous author board kits that are great for high school. Look hard in several of these stores and you will find something.

instructors and directors interior the U.S. have comparable concerns on the subject of finding out and a pervasive attitude approximately “button-holing” particular scholars into an “academic” or “vocational” application, sending a message to many scholars that their mind is academically substandard. A committed instructor knows of scholars in his/her lecture room who’re having situation with Math, English, Social examine, technological awareness, and different matters seen “academic”. those are the lecturers who will stay after college to teach, to communicate to oldsters approximately how they might help their baby at domicile, set up week-end training for the scholars and fogeys to handle the themes. have faith me, U.S. instructors are underpaid, making use of out-of-date textbooks, and are managing 30 to 35 scholars in a room that has purely 25 desks! Many little ones are with a instructor, in a lecture room, greater hours than they are with their mom and father. those little ones have breakfast and lunch at college. Many are in after-care, and are not getting domicile till 6 p.m., the place they might or won’t have a night meal till now going to mattress and getting up interior the morning to start their day returned! you are going to be able to desire to know now, that i’m a instructor; have been for over 40 years. The longer I coach, the greater annoyed i’m with the practise device. If instructors do no longer get up for the scholars, who will?
