if you mean you are in 8th grade – you haven’t seen anything yet. First of all in 8th grade, the exams are not that bad – so if you do not have time for sleep then you need to practice better time management you should have plenty of time to sleep AND study. I agree that probably too much importance is put on exams early on, but what IS important is the mindset that you need to learn as much as you can – basically you are preparing yourself to be successful in the future – if you shrug off the exams and do not take them seriously, then you will most likely shrug of other challenges as well and end up some sort of slacker. You need to instill in yourself a personal desire to succeed and accomplish goals. This is what will carry you through all the classes and exams and ultimately into a successful career.

Honestly, if you’re in the US, your exams are nothing like kids from other countries (or even US kids 100 years ago) faced. You have a rigorous schedule to provide you training and discipline for high school, college, grad school, and whatever your career will be.

My advice…use your study skills, get organized. Study over a long period of time, rather than cramming all at once. It works really well and takes the stress off.

(By the way…5th graders in the US 100 years ago had to pass vocab tests that set the SATs to shame. You’re not overburdened.)

Because our education system is bad. This is the only way over-populated schools can measure how much a student has learned and it prepares you for college because college is handled the same way.

We do not have a proper educational system in our country. The syllabus gets increased each year and hence we students get more pressurised.
