Well, you could try listing some of your interests. That doesn’t mean extracurricular activities, just things you are interested in. Hopefully you are interested in things other than watching TV.

I am a teacher and I usually ask questions like this on the first day of school for several reasons. I like to go to support my students in their extracurricular activites, so if a kid says they play hockey, I know I can go see them play in a game.

What your teacher is looking for is some kind of common interest that they might have with you to make a connection and form a relationship. I had a group of students last year that loved the show LOST (I teach h.s.) and we really bonded over it-we would talk about it the next day and forward info. about the show to each other through email.

If you do not have an extracurricular activity, think about your interests- rock music, 24, cats, the environment, playing a certain video game, etc. You will be surprised at what you and your teacher might have in common.

ps- also, you might think about joining a club or something, b/c they make your college applications stronger!

Jessica, You are shy because of the way you talk? Only two things come to mind. Stuttering, and a speech impediment. Stuttering can be overcome with help. There are speech therapists who work with that all the time. A speech impediment could mean a problem with your hearing. You see it is your impediment or stuttering which has caused the shyness right? If that was gone then you wouldn’t be shy, right? There are rare times when a speech impediment can’t be fixed in some way. You will have to ask your family doctor. You seem nice. Who knows, spending all your time with the written word you might become an author. It could happen. Go now and tell your mom and dad. No one cares more about you than them.

Maybe you could list your interests as hanging out with friends, asking and answering questions online, etc. It does not have to be sports or anything like that. List anything you do in your spare time.

I don’t really do any extracurricular activities either, so I always put watching movies and listening to music. If you’re a teenager, I’m sure you at least do the latter. 🙂

Don’t worry about it, just put whatever you like to do when you have free time, even if it is just taking a nap and spending time with friends. Music, movies, going to the mall, reading, fashion, make up whatever. I never knew what to put on those either…

You don’t have to participate in extracurricular activities to be interested in something! Do you like gardening, shopping, computer technology? Surely you enjoy thinking about, learning about, or participating in something during your leisure time.

do you like to listen to music? dance? play video games? shop? these are all interests. i ask my students the same question, and just want to know what they enjoy doing.

write you like doing drugs and drinking alcohol. If she calls you up, just say you wanted to see if she really cared about you, or if she was doing it look like she cared
