Movies in class?

Does anyone have some supporting facts on why tests over movies shown in class are ridiculous? (We recently watched a movie–“St Peter and Paul”—and everyone got a bad grade in it…really bad… and the movie was complicated) So Supporting facts?

Perhaps you should try to pay attention, take more thorough notes and ask your teacher for help instead of criticising him/her.

There’s an old saying: You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make it drink. Think about it.

Well, the big thing is you can’t review the material (easily that is, and if you do, it costs money). Teachers would say “Well you should have been taking notes!”

Yeah, when can I do that? When it’s dark and I can’t see an inch in front of my nose, while that glowing TV is so irresistable…so perfect…

Anyway, it’s really a poor decision. The only time I do well on tests based on movies is when they’re movies I like. (Had a test on Day After Tomorrow…100%! Now I just need to take an Egyptian Culture class that’ll show StarGate…)

If a movie is boring then kids will not pay attention. And usually that is every movie besides the big box office ones. And if your in a boring movie, surrounded by your friends, then your gonna find a way to communicate with them. So if they haven’t been paying attention, then the ywill do badly on there test.

Because some teachers (not all) pick really dumb movies (like ones with really complicated story or even just plain boring) and then give the students something hard to do after the movie like an essay or something

if someone is absent one day while the class is watching the movie, it’s kind of hard to make up.
