When a potter makes a bowl, he forms it by kneading, twisting, shaping and caressing the clay until a perfect product results. It is an act of love. It is a part, the art, of the creative process.

“Health teaching as an art, if one is very successful at it, would require the same creative process. The only difference would be that the potter’s clay is literally molded, while the student (the teacher’s clay) must be figuratively “shaped.” If, or when, the health teacher is successful he will have molded his bowl (student) to his own ideal of perfection.
