I’m a sucker for a vanilla cake…..but I will gladly chow down on any kind offered. Since my Grandmothers passing, I now rely on store bought cakes. There is a great place called Dimitries here in Toronto. A cake without icing???? What a bizzare thought. I suppose it would be doable, but why?
I particularily enjoy Hagen Daz “Dolce Lace” or Baskin Robbins “Gold Medal”. There’s something about the caramel mixed into the ice cream. I will gladly share my ice cream with any of my friends or family….but am very content to sit down by myself with a bowl full.
“A journey of one thousand miles begins with just one step”. I truely believe that this should apply to all that we do…and should help one to get over their fears that maybe something might be insurmountable. I’m not 100% sure where I first heard it. I think it’s an ancient Chinese proverb….I’m sure I didn’t hear it in ancient China though.
My favorite cologne is Platinum Egoiste by Chanel. I got a wiff of it on someone else & when I tried it on in the store…I liked the way it reacted with my bodies chemistry.
I have lots of books that I enjoy, but my longest lasting favorite is “The Chrysalids” by John Wyndham. I first read it in High school and immediately went out & bought my own copy. I have read it several times over the years.
My fave cake is German Chocolate cake which is made by a bakery in our town. I love the frosting, which is a mixture of nuts and coconut.
As for ice cream, I love Cherry Custard and I usually buy it when out with friends when we all have ice cream cones. I buy vanilla for home as it goes with lots of other things. I prefer cake cones.
My favorite saying is “A friend in need is a friend indeed” which (I hope) means if you need your friend he will be there for you and not try to avoid your urgent calls for help. My Mom told me all the old sayings and I could probably list dozens, or even hundreds of them if I thought hard enough.
I think she told me that saying when I was mad at one of my girlfriends for skipping out on me or whatever.
I am allergic to most perfumes, but I can wear the Body Shop’s Vanilla so I wear that every day. I read somewhere that men are attracted to vanilla as it reminds them of home baking so that is also why I chose it. Men do seem to like it.
My favorite book is hard to pin down. I am definitely a readaholic. I read 2 or 3 books or more every week, and on holiday, more. I really like Thomas Hardy and I think my favorite book is Far From the Madding Crowd which he wrote. I have probably read it more than twice over many years. I own it as I do many books. I love to be surrounded by bookshelves full of books as in a library, it makes me feel contented and happy to know I always will have something good to read! Whew! That was a stretch – coming up with all that, but thanx for asking!!!
Cake: Cake=yum I love cheesecake!! Especially turtle cheesecake. But for “real cake” strawberry with cream cheese frosting, homemade by Mom.
Ice Cream: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough or Bluebell’s Bunny tracks. Located at the local Wal-Mart. Cake batter from Coldstone is good too. I always seem to have ice cream with friends or family and 9 times out of ten it is in a bowl. I don’t really like cones.
Fav. Saying: ???? I don’t think I have one 🙁
Perfume/cologne: I’m not a perfume fan, but I love warm vanilla sugar anything from bath & body works! I smelled it myself at the store and fell in love with it!
Fav. Book: I am a readaholic… Off the top of my head I would say Harry Potter (all of them), but they are probably the books I can read most often. I own a copy (or 2) of each book. I’ve read them way more than once.
WHY do you want to know this?????????????????????????????????????????????????????
My favorite saying is “To thine own self be true” which is a great belief to live by. It’s important not only for the meaning itself, but also it was a favorite of my dear, departed father.
My favorite perfume is Irresistible by Elizabeth Arden. Liv Tyler is their celebrity in their ads, and I’ve been told many times I look like her (after 6 beers??!). Surprisingly, the scent is actually more appealing than even the thought of looking like that gorgeous girl!
I love animals, so 2 all-around favorites are Call of the Wild and The Incredible Journey. During my youth, I also read every Nancy Drew book I could get my hands on. Now, I like novels by James Patterson, Patricia Cornwall, Dean Koontz — sophisticated crime novels a step or two up from “Nancy” !
Because I do like to read them more than once, I prefer to buy my own. Luckily, there are many bookcases in my home !
I like any variety of cake except German chocolate (it’s that gross icing I can’t stand). I also love ice cream cakes, like you get from Baskin-Robbins or Dairy Queen. The frosting is a bonus.
My favorite ice cream is anything but butter pecan (I hate pecans and walnuts in or on anything). I’ve been known to get a pint of handpacked at Haagen Daz, but I also regularly buy at least two cartons of Breyers Vanilla Fudge Twirl when I go grocery shopping every week. I eat it alone, in a bowl.
My favorite saying is: “For cryin’ out loud –” or “Get the F— outta here.” I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, surrounded by New Yorkers and I heard that stuff constantly.
I don’t wear perfume — it makes my nose run and my skin itch. I don’t mind being around people wearing perfume or cologne, as long as it doesn’t smell like they took a bath in it.
I don’t have one favorite book, but I do have favorite authors — Carl Hiaasen, Tim Dorsey and Kinky Friedman. I own every book they’ve published over the past 10 years. I need a new bookcase.
Red Velvet cake with cream cheese icing is absolutely to die for. My mom or grandma make it, normally for my b-day…and only then. And, as long as it’s cream cheese icing, i like a lot of icing.
Chocolate chip ice cream is the absolute best, but it’s hard to find. People always throw cookie dough in and ruin it! But, Blue Bunny makes some that’s really really good. I rarely eat just ice cream. I either make a milk shake or a coffee shake. Mmm!
I say “to each his own” a lot…and I have no idea why. Hmm, I should figure that otu.
I really dont’ like perfume…I’m allergic to a lot of it. But, i really like warm vanilla sugar and white cherry blossom from Bath And Body. They’re nice and light.
The best book of all time would have to be Great Gatsby. It is absolutely amazing! I’m not sure how many times I’ve read it, but I finally got my own copy this summer. sooo exciting!
jello cake! my mum! loads of it!
