What are some tips for good study habits and time management for students taking multiple AP/Honors courses?

Every week there is at least one night where I stay up past midnight or do not sleep at all. People say it is natural for juniors and seniors in high school to not sleep well, but I do not believe this. Please help me out. I appreciate it!

It comes down to discipline. If you don’t have after school activities, come home, take a break, have a snack and dig in. Get your homework done. Maybe you can go for a quick jog before dinner. The later it gets in the evening, the more tired you’re going to be and it’s just harder.

Oh, I know what you are going through. At age thirteen, I started my high school and college classes at the same time..I am now fifteen and it is TOUGH. At least three times a week I stay up past 1:00 am and at least once a week I sleep like three hours. Well, What I do is try to do my homework ahead of time since there is always something that comes up whether it is going to a fun place with friends/family or just another big homework assignment I forgot to do. During the weekend when I have time, I do homework that I know is going to be due. If your plans are going to college after high school, get good grades but if you plan to go to a community college after, don’t sweat it, or at least have some fun. At my school, we are forced to take an AVID class each semester and there we have to do this thing called an ABC list. The ABC List is a list where you put all the things that need to get done that day whether they are doing the laundry, doing homework, cleaning your room, or just simply taking out the trash. After we do a Tracking Time W/S where we plan out our day and fill it with the ABC List items. Well, these are just some ideas, hope I helped. And don’t give up, trust me, I have felt hopeless with all the overwhelming work but at the end it all pays off.
