Depending on how long ago you went to college the first time around your credits might not be valid. Check with the school you’re planning on applying to.

That being said if you want to start from scratch apply as a new student. They will ask for your old transcripts and those transcripts will have an effect on the admissions process but they shouldn’t count the prior credits unless you specifically request that they be transferred.

Talk with an admission’s counselor at the school you want to study at, they are going to be your best source of information about the specifics of the admission process and how your prior experience will affect it.

First off, not all students slack off and party all the time when they go away to college. I know a lot of schools have a fresh start program. Check with the school you’re thinking about and see if they have one. If not, just take the classes you bombed the first time around. Good Luck!

You would only be a transfer student if you were currently enrolled at another college or university.
