If you are accepted into an American University and are then granted a student (F-1) visa then your spouse may apply for an F-2 visa.

The application procedure is the same for both yourself and for your spouse. The only difference is you will be apply for an F-1 visa and your spouse an F-2 visa (although your spouse obviously will not need an I-20).

To apply for both visa you will need to visit the American Embassy in your own country and acquire all of the correct application forms and make sure you have all of the correct documentation in order and meet all of the requirements before applying.

Also note that your spouse may not work or seek employment of any kind while on an F-2 visa.

Yes. It shouldn’t be a problem. The embassy may ask what you intend for your wife to do while you are at uni. Be prepared with a good answer!
