Is STPM recognised in other countries like US, UK, Australia or Europe?

STPM or Form 6 is like a pre-university level 2 year course students take in Malaysia.

G’day,

Hmmm… I think the first answerer is not quite right.

STPM qualification is recognised as equivalent to A level, whereas SPM is equivalent to O level. Depending on the course that you want to do and your STPM grades, you may be eligible for a direct entry to Australian university courses. I have included a link from a uni in Australia as example.

Hope this helps. E-mail me at mikegun(at)studentfirst.com.au if you have more questions abt study in Australia. Good luck 🙂

The Malaysian SPM and STPM examinations are only recognised as equivalents to UK GCE/GCSE and School Certificate examinations respectively and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education set by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate is recognised on the same basis as the General Certificate of Secondary Education. It only equal to the British O levels so it not recognised as a pre-University level. Both in the UK and Ireland. You need to have As Levels
