Select a time most convenient to you .that can be determined by the state of mind you are in. happy relaxed,Select a place in the house that is conducive to learning that is spacious , and have good circulation of air cause when there is not sufficient fresh air you feel sleepy.

Now to actual studying. You can use notes given by teachers and relevant text books given by the teacher and other books borrowed form the library as additional references also have a dictionary handy all the time.Read trough the notes once, the second time you read list all the terms/words you do not understand, you may use you notes, text books or a dictionary for this. Now you can list down the main ideas the note is trying to say about the particular topic.Having done that read the note once more and formulate some questions When your questions are ready close all reference matrials and try to answer your questions. If their are questios you fail to answer look the answers up at the end of the exercise and ensure you learn them,

You can keep the collection of queations for future revision in your question bank.

It is importantt to be consistent. You can use questions given by your teacher Using more than one reference book is usual..You can exchange questions with your fiends.

The best is you read two chapters in advance per topic. In that way you can prepare the questions which you dont understand. In that way you can ask your professor when the topic is already discussed.

You dont need to be a genius, just have the patience to practice this habit.

Before classes ask the teacher if you can record the classes. Normally it should be a yes. record an audio file of the class. If you have an Mp3 Player or an iPod load it on their. And listen to it.

MUSIC IS AWESOME!!!
