I have a 2.4 Cumulative GPA. Are there any exchange student programs that would except me?

Yeah, I know where you’re coming from! My first study abroad was like that and basically my GPA has always sucked. If you want to go to a place where everyone goes like Italy or the U.K. there’s a lot of competition. You really need some awesome letters of recomendation! These are good to get from your employers (which you probably work and study at the same time as I did (I hope!) and/or you’re involved in something other than parties and booze) and educated long time family friends. Get your third letter from a language teacher. Even if you’re not doing so hot in the class, if you participate, seem like your trying he/she will give you the benefit of the doubt. Be sure to give your recommenders small gifts as thankyou’s! Be very clear about WHY you want the experience! How will study abroad help you to reach your ultimate goal in life? You need a sh** load of dough- so be aware that recommeded amount on the postings are assuming you stay at home by yourself and stare at your toes. Research CIEE for programs since they are a massive organization and be VERY friendly with your study abroad office. You may consider a cleaner cut look for the interviews when you go in to work with them. Preparation is about three months minimum. Warning: Coming back you’ll never be the same. Best of Luck!

I had a friend with a GPA like that he went to Prague in a college program. Just don’t use except like that in your application. Accept is the correct word. (Not trying to be a smartarse, just trying to help.)

As long as you have money, you can find tons on the internet that don’t even care about your GPA. Remember, as long as you have the money though. Don’t expect any financial aid with that kind of GPA.
