when writing an essay for a scholarship, should you use paragraphs or does it not matter?

a lot of times they’ll tell you to use a minimum of 600 words or 1000. But I don’t know whether or not to use paragraphs.

Consider these things when writing your essay for a scholarship: Why are they having you write an essay?

* They are looking for your expression and clarity of thought and reasoning ability.

* Good grammar, spelling, and punctuation can show the reader your intelligence and attitude, just like your body language can show what kind of person you are when you are talking to someone.

*Paragraphs will show separation and flow of thoughts. It will be important to use paragraphs (and all other writing convections!)

*Remember to use a variety of sentence structure – don’t start all sentences with subjects. Sentences can start with prepositions, adverbs, and predicates. Use at least one question ? or exclamatory sentence!

*Apply for all scholarships that require an essay and some will find there way to you. Many students do not like to take the time to write essays and many essay requirements for small scholarships go unawarded because students do not want to write for a little money (like $200 or $500 awards).

If you are applying for a scholarship then you must be at a college level, so I’m surprised you would ask a question like that. A person uses paragraphs when writing to group related ideas, and to make their words flow more smoothly, so it should be obvious as to whether you need to use them or not.
