1. Most foods naturally contain small amounts of bacteria that pose no harm to people. But when food is poorly handled, improperly cooked or inadequately stored, bacteria can multiply quickly and cause food poisoning.

2. The acute symptoms of Salmonella gastroenteritis include the sudden onset of nausea, abdominal cramping, and bloody diarrhea with mucous. The onset of symptoms usually occurs within 6 to 72 hours after the ingestion of the bacteria.1 The infectious dose is small, probably from 15 to 20 cells. There is no real cure for a Salmonella infection (or salmonellosis), except treatment of the symptoms. For most strains of Salmonella, the fatality rate is less than one percent.

3. Micro-organisms are living organisms which are not visible to the naked eye. In gardening, micro-organisms play a very important part in the breakdown of plant and animal residue, convert it into plant nutrients, and then hold those nutrients in place to make them available to plants. This is the process by which humus is made.

4. It allows families to prepare and freeze thie meals days and weeks in advance to help save time which allow the family members to spend more time together.

Food Contamination Can be caused when people do not wash there hands. They could be sick, and touching the food, coughing over the food. Also leaving food out. There are many way to cause food contamination. Not cooking your meats and foods, leaving them raw.

There has been a lot of food recalls, where the workers are not being safe with the food they are handling. They should be wearing gloves when they handle food. And mask when they are handling food. Always wear a hair net.

A freezer keep your food fresh. But you have to watch out for freezer burn. When food is left in the freezer to long. You may also find more information on any web site. By typing in the words you are searching for. Yahoo has a lot of information you can find the answers you are searching for.

This is all unorganized but i hope it helps u out abit with Q’s 1 & 2 2 diarriah cramps vomiting and fever that occurs within 24hrs. of consuming the food. 1 not washing hands, cooking the food properly, not keeping hot foods hot (140 degrees or above)or cold foods cold (45 degrees or below), not keeping kitchen utinsils clean and sanitized properly and contamination can not only occur during final perperation but during growing harvesting processing or storing as well. food grown in soil can be contaminted during growth. food that is left out at room temp for more than 2hrs can begin to grow bacteria mostly witch gose undetected cuz it causes no change in appearance.

E coli, Salmonella, Shigella, Botulism (this is the correct spelling for the previous poster). You can google these and learn about the symptoms and what foods you get these from. They usually cause vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever etc.
