PSAT Prep?

Do you need separate books to prepare for the PSAT or will SAT study books do the trick? Is there a huge difference between the PSAT and the SAT?

SAT books will totally do the trick. Obviously, the SAT and the PSAT serve totally different functions. Other than that, they are essentially the same, with the same kind of test questions and format and stuff like that. The key differences are that the PSAT does not have an essay and that the PSAT is shorter (it’s made up of less sections). Given those differences, you can see that you do not need a separate book for the PSAT; purchasing one would just be a waste of money. In fact, some SAT books have a built-in PSAT section, but you don’t need to seek one out. There is nothing that you have to know for the PSAT that you wouldn’t need to know for the SAT.

The PSAT is basically a practice test fot the SAT, so they are the same. Just make sure your version of either test is up to date, they changed the layout of the test just a few years ago.
