PSAT help please!!?

This year I will be taking the PSAT. I’m in the 8th grade and im taking it since I scored advanced and proficient on previous tests( my state test-P.A.C.T) I’m tested Gifted and Talented and I’m wondering are there any websites or books that will help me prepare for it so i’ll be ready to take it when the time comes.

For the record, the PSAT doesn’t really mean anything until you can qualify for the National Merit Scholar in Junior year (11th grade). Taking the SAT is much better – I took it in seventh grade to qualify for the Gifted and Talented, Johns Hopkins, etc. So, in that respect, I would suggest not taking the PSAT, and taking the SAT instead. The only difference is that on the SAT, you have an essay. Also, getting an SAT prep book with prepare you for both tests.

The best ones in my experience are the Princeton Review and Kaplan books, either for the SAT or PSAT. They both have full-length exams, online information, and CDs with more tests and material. You can also take courses there, but they run over 800 dollars for over 20 hours of review, testing, and coaching. princetonreview.com and kaplan.com are the websites. Remember what I said, though: You would probably do better to take the SAT instead.

Princeton Review is very good, I use it, and I’m going to be taking the PSAT this October. You don’t even have to be taking the PSAT this year, you won’t be able to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship. If you are doing it just to try and get yourself familiarized with the SAT, then I suggest you just take the real SAT.

well, there are many things that can help you to get ready for it….1st just get a book from library or buy it then study it, get used with the format and questions. and do lot of practice test! You can also get into PSAT programs like Kplan and Barrons. they’ll teach you the method. Hope that helped =)

When I first took the SAT, my score was low in the mid 1700s but then I got the sat guide from TutorFox: http://www.tutorfox.com/satguide.html and my score went up to 2190 (800 math, 760 writing, 630 reading). I highly recommend this guide for anyone wishing to get a higher SAT score.
