I.Q. stands for Intelligence Quotient. It’s a “quotient” because you needed to divide to get it. The old way of scoring was to take the ratio of 100x(mental age)/(chronological age), so that if a 10 year old took the test and scored as well as a thirteen year old, they’d have an IQ of 130. To make the scoring more applicable to adults, modern tests are based on statistical samples of the population, and 100 is defined as average. A score of 120 then means you’re above average. Above 130 is considered “genius”. If the test you took was worth anything, (which is unlikely if you took it in an unsupervised environment on-line) the test requires knowledge of your age to know what statistics to compare your score to. When I was a your age, my IQ was about 10 points higher than it is now—due to the “average” person getting smarter as they got older.

IQ tests are formulated so that any age can take the test. They measure the basic ability to reason, and a person’s IQ does not change over time unless they are in the process of learning the language of the test (ie, a native Mandarin speaker who is studying English takes the test in English).

Its a good standard. Actually, an IQ of 120 is average for an adult. You could be smart or you are smart. Some IQ tests are really not efficient.

If it was an online IQ test it might be fake. On the other hand, if it was from a standerized test than it’s above average. 200 would be genious level, but you are above average. congratulations.

Its about average. As you mature your IQ will shrivel. But not to worry, intelligence in its truest sense, is probably not measurable, and even if it were, intelligence isn’t as important in this world as a vicious disposition, greed, lust and cruelty. if you want to be a success little lady, those are the attributes to cultivate.

you are an intelligent child. my daughter took the IQ test when she was 13 and it is 136. while mine is only 94.

Sounds pretty good to me. I can’t say if it really is normal or not, but I would guess that, at age twelve, that’s a good place to be.
