GPA stands for grade point average, and uses the 4.0 system where an A is worth 4 points; Bs are 3; 2 for Cs, 1 for Ds, and nothing for an F. simply you average all the grades over the semester(s) to find the gpa. Also to raise ur gpa is easy if its low to start with but the higher ur gpa the less effect having high grades are going to effect it overall.

In most grading systems, an A on a class is worth 4, B is 3, C is 2, D is 1, F is 0. And A- is less than A, too. So if you have five classes, and you get A’s in two, a B in one, a C in one, and a D in one, than you just add 4 + 4 + 3 +2 +1, which = 14. Divide 14 by 5 to find the average, and you get 2.8, that’s your GPA.

Still imagining your GPA is 2.8, if you get a B in a class, it’ll go up, but if you get a C it will drag it down. If your GPA was a 4.00, than in most cases you can’t raise it, you can only maintain it.

However, in some schools, the grading system gives 5 for an A in an AP class, or another type of advanced class, which can raise your GPA above 4.00.

Your GPA is measured by the grades you get in all your classes (some schools, like mine, don’t have P.E effect your GPA, but I don’t know about your school). You get a 4 for every A that you get, a 3 for every B, a 2 for every C, a 1 for every D, and a 0 for every F.

Then, they divide all the numbers you get from your grades by the number of classes you have, and you get you’re GPA.

Example: Let’s pretend you have seven classes, and you have two A’s, two B’s, two C’s, and a D. You get 8 points for your 2 A’s, 6 points for your 2 B’s, 4 points for your two C’s, and 1 point for your D. If you add all the numbers together, you’ll get 19 points. Then, if you divide that by the number of classes you have, (in this scenario, 7) then your overall GPA for the semester or trimester or whatever would be 2.7 (I rounded off).

The highest GPA you can get is a 4.0. BUT if you’re in high school and you took A.P classes, then you could have a higher GPA then a 4.0 if you ace all your classes.

To improve your GPA, you could take an A.P. class (if you are good at a certain subject and their is an A.P. class offered for that subject at your school) or you can do better in your classes, or just one or two classes. Even if you have only a couple A’s, it can bump up your GPA a lot. But if you have F’s, it could bump it down a lot.

Good Luck!!! I hope you do well!!!!

you get a 4 for an A, a 3 for a B, a 2 for a C, a 1 for a D, and a 0 for an F. then they average out those numbers to find your gpa. so to improve your gpa, you need to go up a whole letter grade in at least one subject.

They measure your GPA on how well you have done on the SAT. They go by scores. A good GPA average of 3.0 or higher can get you in any university/college that you would like
