Yes there are SATs in the US, which you take in 12th grade, to determine which college you get into. Yes, the US also has the SAT tests. However, it may vary with the UK’s. Your best bet would be College Board. It is the official site of the SATs (in the US).

I don’t know about the UK, but here in the US we have SATs that are used as college entrance tests and college placement tests. They are required to get into most colleges and universities.

we have the SATs here, it’s just that it’s a test you take to see what kind of college you can get into. Colleges take in students with higher scores, usually the better universities.
