Does the University of California have any preference between the SAT and the ACT?
College admissions are coming up and I can’t decide whether to submit my SAT or ACT score. Based on the statistics on the UC website, it looks like I would have a better chance of getting in if I submit my ACT score but I see that the vast majority submit their SAT scores. Do the UC campuses really care which you submit? I don’t want to jeopardize my chances of getting in just because I submitted the wrong test.
If you’re a student of a UC please tell me which test you submitted. Thanks!

All UC schools require an SAT score. ACT scores are optional, but if you manage to get 30+ on the ACT and you plan on attending the lower level UC school, you should probably include your ACT score with your application.
If you plan on attending UCLA or UC Berkeley, unless you score a 33-35 on your ACT you’re better off leaving it out. However, for UCLA or UC Berkeley, you’re going to want to get a 2250+ on the new SAT.

SAT. I don’t think they accept ACT.
