Can you help me with this problem??????

Ok so this is an ACT practice test question that i’m stumped with even though it seems SO simple.

Martin’s average score after 4 tests is 89. What score does he need on his fifth test to raise the average score to 90???

In 1990, town A’s pop. was 9400. Town B’s pop. was 7600.

Ever since, town A’s pop. has been decreasing by 100 and town B’s pop. has been increasing by 100. What year will both populations be equal??

Another seemingly simple question that I am stumped with….

I feel dumb but any help will be much appreciated. Thank you much!!!!!

For the second question, the difference between the populations is 1800, so it will take 9 years for their populations to be the same.

For the first question, there will be 5 scores so the fifth score has to be 5 points above the current average to increase the average by one point. So he needs to score 94.
