If it’s for a mathematical subject and they don’t allow you a cheat sheet for formulas, make sure you have the formulas down pat. Then try redoing exercises in the book (even if you already know the answer—the important thing is don’t cheat ^_^). Then redo the exercises and examples in your notebook if you have any. Note down questions to ask for later. Move on.

For history or any subject requiring tremendous amounts of memorization, it helps if you listen and take down notes in class… (even on the margins of your book.). If not, borrow notes from someone whose mind is a lot like yours AND takes effective notes; it will help you understand better. Another way is to read your book and take notes (names, events, interesting trivia) as you read it. The important thing is NOT to overwhelm yourself with DATA and treat it as a story. Absorb whatever interests you. (If you’re not interested at all in it, then absorb whatever would interest you if you were another person who appreciates the subject.hehehe)

For languages/music subjects, just practice with a friend or hold a group study. Have fun, but keep in mind that you’re also reviewing.

Make sure you rest your mind every so often.

Get a good night’s sleep.

Good luck!

Depends on the test, of course. The SAT is absurdly long now. I just got an 800R800M750W in June. I worked a long time on separate parts of the tests – always timed but not the whole thing. Once I knew I could ace the parts I took two practice tests, a month apart, in one sitting to make sure I could put it altogether. I would have done more but I aced the two practice tests so I didn’t torture myself by burning out. I “blew the writing” because the last section is only 10 minutes and I screwed up my timing. But I can stand a 750W. Anyway try to use prep material from the company that writes the test – it’s the best source. Get a good night sleep the day before the test. Take snacks to the test center. All the obvious stuff. The key- get familiar with the test ASAP and pace yourself.

1.reread everything; skip the parts you still remember

2.use a highlighter and highlight key words in your text

3.review your notes (I hope you took down some key pointers from the teacher)

4. try not to cram before the exams!

5. review,review,review!!
