Are the SAT’s to get into Harvard really this low?

In the US News college handbook it states that the SAT Percentile to get into Harvard is 1370-1590. Can this be really true? Or can someone please explain how US News comes out with such a number?

The number is based on a 1600 SAT. This is the SAT without the writing section, just verbal and math. The writing section of the SAT was only added about 3 years ago and only two classes have been required, so far, to take the written part. I graduated in 2005 and was the last class of students to take the SAT without the writing section.

On the 1600 scale, those are very high scores.

Add.: Yuk S.’s answer, not correct. The PSAT is not scored on that scale, your scores are given as percentiles. Like I said, the scores given are based on SAT without the writing section.

1370 -1590 are psat score . the highest psat are 1600 .sat the highets score was 2400 with writing section while psat don’t have writing section
