are the ACTs easier then the SATs?

i recently took the SATs in spring, and didnt do that well on them. All of my friends took both the SATs and the ACTs, and all of them said the ACTs were much easier and less stressful.

I think the ACT’s are a bit easier, but the ACT test has more sections on it. It’s different for every person.

It does vary by person. Just because the test is easier, doesn’t mean that you will encounter more success getting into college.

At least some colleges use a chart that was created by using the test scores of students who took both tests.

The ACT test tends to generate a slightly higher percentage rank because students on the coast tend to score better and don’t tend to take the ACT.

So with this chart, scoring at the 88th %ile on the ACT may be the same as scoring at the 85th %ile on the SAT.

I agree with your friends’ strategy which is to take both tests and see how you do on both. If you do way better on one than the other, then only submit that test score.

What would be an even better strategy would be to read a test prep book or two that has large review sections for each part of the test.

I also think that the ACT is much easier. The questions are more straightforward, and you don’t lose .25 points for incorrect answers (no penalty for guessing). Also, the ACT doesn’t test vocab, so there’s no memorizing. You should try the ACT, I think you’ll do better.

ACT each and every of how. I have been given interior the 30s for the ACT. i’ve got not taken the particularly SAT, yet I surely have taken the PSAT, and that i got here across it brutal. i think of any try that penalizes you for guessing is a undesirable try. we’ve been programmed TO wager, and without warning being, “Oops, guessing and entering into incorrect expenses you one million/4 of a element!” is purely moronic.

I have heard that this is because the SAT is more geared towards analysis while the ACT is geared towards what you have learned in school

you should try taking both though

Rather than just take the test that is easiest, you need to find out which test is required for the colleges that interest you. Some accept only one or the other.
