I am a special ed teacher. There is no such thing as an “iep teacher”. An IEP is an acronym used for “Individual Education Plan” and it is a legal document for students with disabilities, not the teacher. A special ed teacher writes IEPs for their students, with educational goals that match the needs of the individual child. Then the special ed teacher works with that student to help him/her achieve those goals.

If you are asking what benefits – job wise, a special education teacher has – that is simple, they are the same as regular education teachers.

We get a salary, health insurance, summers and holidays off… that sort of thing.

I love my job… so the real “benefits” come when the students I work with are able to feel and be successful in their lives.

I believe you mean special education teachers. IEPs are Individualized Education Plans for students with special needs. An IEP is created by an entire team of professionals. Often times (depending on the child’s needs) this being : special education teacher, occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech therapist and social worker. Parents and the child (and anyone they would like to invite), are also included.

If your question meant personal benefits, I would tend to believe the biggest one would be being a positive influence in a child’s life.

Financial benefits are pretty much the same as a general education teacher.

I think you mean what benifts to IEP (Individualized Education Plans) for a student. The teacher and the school must follow this plan directly and not leave any parts out. Often these plans are mandated by the state in which the student attends.

I am not sure what you mean by an “iep” teacher. If it is special education, they they are the same benefits as any other teacher there. Special ed teachers write “IEP’s” on their students. That is recommendations on how to accomplish certain goals and what goals they need to reach. Other info is also there.
