I would suggest breaking everything down into very simple steps and use as much concrete modeling as possible. Using tiles and counters help them visualize the concepts before they internalize them. I also use to let them write in different colored pencils as they were learning multi-step problems. This let them keep in their minds the different steps that they had to do-it also made it easier for me to see which parts they were having problems with.

colored pencils to keep track of the steps and using graph paper, or something like it, keeps numbers aligned. relate problems to real life. read problems out loud and listen, help them to use their strengths to be successful in math.

chances are that kids with dyscalculia will usually have a reading disability too.

Manipulatives are a great source to use. Get a variety of things besides tiles. It makes math more fun. You can do alot of things with them and they are quite versatile with all levels of math.

if you mean children who have dyscalculia or dyspraxia i suggest you use visual aids like hoops and marbles etc i’m dyscalculaic and that’s what my teachers did for me when i had difficulty with numbers at school.
