Early Childhood Education is a Major with many courses. Which course do you want to take??? These courses can be valuable even if you are not a teacher because they help you learn about young children.

I am a student in ECE, going for my AAS, then further for special education. My reasons for taking this course probably differ from most. I have a disabled child, and also a young child. I want to be able to teach my disabled child, as well as home school my youngest when it is time. I think that it is valuable as it teaches the basics, as well as the instrumental tools needed to be a teacher/caregiver. I think that it is very useful and can be utilized in many different ways such as daycare provider, teacher, counseling of young children and what not. It can start as a base, and go much further if you want it too.
