Do you enjoy working as a preschool teacher?

If you’re currently a preschool teacher, do you enjoy going to work everyday? If not, why?

Yes! Why? Because…

-of the hugs, smiles, and laughter you get from the kids

-everyday is different; everyday is a new experience in class

– it is very rewarding to see whenever your student has grown or achieved something in his/her own way

-you get to personally re-live a part of your childhood; so staying young means you also look young!

-the other answerer here is right, we’re underpaid but overworked, but we are all still here teaching because teaching isn’t a job or profession; it’s a vocation, a passion.

I love my job. I work with preschoolers with disabilities, and I love feeling that I am making a difference in these little guys’ lives every day. If you do not enjoy going to work (and I’m not talking about the occasional burn-out feeling) then you need to get a different job. It’s not a job for those who think that “babysitting a bunch of kids” is easy… if you are doing it right- it is lots of work!! Working with preschoolers has to be your passion (especially those with disabilities) or you will fail at it. Children deserve those who are truly dedicated to their job and want to be the best preschool teacher they can be. I have worked very hard to gain the education to be a good preschool teacher because it is what I love to do. Those kids make every day worth it because they are proof that what you do makes a difference to a family.

I absolutely love my job. There are days when I don’t feel like going to work, but most days I wake right up ready to go! The kids are a really good time, and what other job will pay me to go play and watch kids grow and learn!

I will say though that it’s not for everybody. Some people get really stressed in the classroom and just can’t enjoy it. There is a lot of paperwork involved, including planning and assessment and preparing materials for lessons, so don’t think it’s all fun and games. There’s a lot of work involved, but I enjoy that as much as I enjoy the kids.

I taught third grade for three years. It was okay the first year, but I knew I needed and wanted a change. This past year I taught pre-k. I fell in love with this age group. I love my job and enjoy going to work everyday because I know that I am teaching these babies skills that they will carry with them on up through high school. I know I make a difference in their life, especially those who have a bad home life. I am able to show them love and caring that they may not be getting at home. Its a great feeling.

I LOVE being a preschool teacher! I’m certainly not in it for the money. I love getting to know the kids and helping them make discoveries.

It helps that I’m pretty much a kid at heart. I get just as excited over the caterpillar or the magnets as they do. I still love to read picture books, squash Play-doh, and play in the mud.

Best of all every time I see one of my students (or former students) around town, I get a great big hug.

I certainly do. Children are adorable. You’ll be amazed at what they can do and they never run out of surprises. Everyday is a new day with them, making it so exciting. You cant help but genuinely love them and what could be more exciting than to be surrounded with the people you love.
