applying for scholarships!! that was my biggest mistake waiting until the last min. to apply for them i could have gotten way more money! you should also think about how many credit hours you want to take per semester, find out how many credits are needed for your major. make a plan to pay for books and other things you might want or need. also you should see if any of your friends or any one from your school are planning on going to the same college, because believe me its a big relief to see a few familiar faces for the first couple of weeks! also if its far and one of you drive you can carpool. hope you take these things (that i should have done) into consideration, they will help out alot! good luck! 🙂

1) apply to another college…they may give you a better deal (ie cheaper, give you a scholarship or something)

2) apply to a college you don’t think would accept you…you may be surprised…

3) finally, start applying for scholarships, local (kights of columbus, masons, eastern stars) county, state and national. your guidance counselor will have all kinds of info on scholarships. its free money and a heck of a lot better than taking on debt or cheating your parents from that cruise they really want.

start looking at what dorms you want to live in, what classes you want to take. usually you can get on their website and see the courses you’ll need to take for each degree. try to make friends with people that are going there by getting on facebook and finding other people who are going there as well.

Sit back and wait for the applications to come back in. Read and learn what you want to major in on your own to kill the time.
