Favorite Answer
means…
dont let others know your private business
example: Many times parents will tell children, ‘We don’t talk about family stuff in front of strangers.’
It means that you shouldn’t let people know your private business because it could make them think badly of you.
Biblically, it means, as Christians we should keep the discussing of our sins confined to the church and through prayer to God. That we shouldn’t advertise our sins to the public. Our sins reflect badly on the church ‘family’.
Sometimes worded, “Don’t air your dirty laundry”. You don’t want the world to see your family problems, especially since they could be resolved, but the ones who first heard it will never know. Gossipers thrive on overheard conversations.
it means that if you have a problem with someone, you take care of it behind closed doors with them. don’t put it out there for all the world to see. it will only make things worse.
