What does this mean to you?

To put the world right in order, we must first put the nation in

order; to put the nation in order we must first put our family in

order, we must cultivate our personal life; we must first set our

hearts right

what kind of historical context can i use i was thinking about 9-11 how we had to put our nation back in order

and like the world wars how the world had to recover and stuff.

but im not sure

so my question to you is what does this quote mean to you and if you had to write an essay with support from historical accuracy what could i use

Our hearts have to be in the right place and our personal lives have to be in order before we can ever expect things to be right.

In James 4:1, the Bible tells us that wars come about based on our lusts. The lust for power, the lust to claim a country, whatever the lust might be. If our heart is in the right place, focused on God, we won’t have those lusts and we won’t be warring. If we are treating our neighbor as we would want to be treated ( again, from the Bible ) we won’t have discord.

Once our hearts are in the right place everything else just follows. So long as we, as a society, are self absorbed and only concerned about #1 we will have jealousy and hatred and warring.

The 9-11 terrorists, Hitler, and any other historical hate mongers all lusted to have something their way. They were not focused on the greater good.
