Need a good quote?

I am writing a novel, but want some form of quote at the beginning.

The novel is about a guy who has something inside of him that has forced him to commit an evil act (Before the novel begins). At the beginning of the book he isolates himself from the rest of humanity and refuses to form any type of connections with anyone. The connections, though, are forced upon him when he meets someone and most of the story is about the guy accepting that you can not run from the human race and he can not escape the thing inside of him.

Anything would help. If you could give me a site or person that has quotes relating to the subject it would be perfect. Thank you

We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in a while. How long is it since you were really bothered? About something important, about something real?

Ray Bradbury (1920 – ), Fahrenheit 451, 1953

All human beings should try to learn before they die what they are running from, and to, and why.

James Thurber (1894 – 1961)

“..freedom has a twofold meaning for modern man: that he has been freed from traditional authorities and has become an ‘individual,’ but that at the same time he has become isolated, powerless and an instrument of purposes outside of himself, alienated from himself and others; furthermore, that this state undermines his self, weakens and frightens him, and makes him ready for submission to new kinds of bondage. Positive freedom on the other hand is identical with the full realization of the individual’s potentialities, together with his ability to live actively and spontaneously.”

Sounds interesting. Something Biblical might make a good start. The 23rd Psalm, perhaps:

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the

shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with

me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

I grew up hearing those words, and yet somehow, their veracity escapes me, and they seem to have no application to my life.”

(Are you writing in the first person? If not, you could use he instead of I)
