Strictly speaking, it would not be plagiarism, in the sense that you could be sued for it.

But what matters is what the teacher calls it, not what the law calls it. The teacher might call it plagiarism, or might call it cheating, but probably won’t call it a good job.

The real question is : is it you. If you are just paraphrasing someone else’s material, your para phases are likely to be wooden and to not make sense in key passages. Your paraphrases are likely to be foolish and the result is bound to be distinctly inferior to what your are copying.

If the teacher catches you, you are probably dead since the only definition that counts is what is in the teacher’s head.

Lastly I would hope that you would see your assignment as an opportunity to learn something. If all you learn is how to paraphrase, you do not have much of a future ahead of you

No its not.

You can rephrase every sentence and use the dictionary to replace any words with words that sound much better. It’s only wrong when you copy someone elses work word for word and then claim it to be your own.

Technically, yes.

But plageurism is really defined as copying work and claiming it’s your own.

It’s still cheating, because you’re not doing the work yourself.

And teachers are smarter than you think. Chances are you’re going to get caught.

no. and if you want to get right down to it:

” My dog is a German Shepperd”

” My dog is a German Shepperd”

“is TECHNICALLY not plagiarizing, because of the modification of the “s” in Shepperd.”

“isn’t TECHNICALLY plagiarizing, because of the modification of the “s” in Shepperd.”

see, its a loophole. so, as before, if you want to get down to it, legally you can change something like “isn’t” to ” is not” in a whole article, and its not. i may be wrong, but i think im not. however, change alot of words around, and it cant be. hope i helped

Yes it will be. It is the opinion and idea of your friend. You can’t change things around and claim it as your own.

Yes, plagarism is passing off someone else’s work as your own. Basically that’s what you are doing – just in different words!

Do your own work and accept your grade, whatever it may be, because it will be yours.

Yes, that is technically deemed plaigarism because it is what is called “plaigarizing ideas.” You could get into huge trouble for it.

Yes, that would be stealing your friend’s ideas.
