Well go to UC if you can afford it. But whichever you chose, make sure thers a good program for whatever your interested in.

Other than that I’d say, if you go to UC make sure you take advantage of being there. Have great experience by getting involved in the activities and opportunites it will provide.

Well these are the pros and cons of going to Community College

Pro: You aren’t required to take the SATs in order to get into a UC if you transfer. Also acceptance rate for transfer students are usually higher than those of freshmen applicants(Since most colleges usually give priority to transfer applicants). Cost for Community College is also a great deal less than most UCs, by going to a Community College you can save some money. And when you graduate from a UC its not gonna say you transfered from a Community College or anything like that.

Con: You need to maintain a high GPA in order to compete with the many other students who are hoping to transfer. From what I heard Community College classes are usually as hard or harder than high school classes.

So my opinion is that you apply to the UCs and if you get into a UC you like, simply attend. If you don’t, you can always go to a Community College like Chabot or Ohlone and then after two years try transfering to a UC you like.

If you have the grades and the finances to go to the four year college, do it! If you don’t know what you want to major in, go with general studies or core courses until you decide on a major. CC is good if you are short on money or grades, or if you have no idea what you want to study and don’t want to waste money if you decide to quit somewhere along the line. But go 4 year if you can and avoid the problems of classes that do not transfer…etc.

I graduated in 2006 and decided to go to a com unity college. I had gotten a couple scholarships, and have not gone into debt at all. I was accepted at Ohio University, and a few other places, but decided to stay closer to home to live with my father. I am so glad that I did, because I didn’t have to pay for rooming, and I got to spend more time with my father before he passed away.

Make sure you know what you want to study in hopes of having a career and not a job. If you are unsure about your life plans as of now… go to the community college. It’s easier on the pockets till you know what you really want to do for the rest of your life.

im not really into high school yet, but it’s always best to at least apply to get into a normal college (not community)…from what ive heard, the benefits later on are many…
