y=mx+b

y=(5/6)x+b

Plug in the x and y coordinates into it and solve for b

b will be the y intercept

y-intercept -3 is the factor (0,-3) (it rather is x=0, y=-3) The equation of a line with slope 2 would be of the type y=2x+b to discover b, exchange x=9 and y=-3 -3 = 2(0)+b -3 = 0 + b b=-3 consequently, the equation is y=2x-3

First – basic equation

y=5/6x

Next: set y = 2 and x = to -1

2=5/6(-1)

3= -5/6

Now add b

3= -5/6+b

(common denominator)

18/6 = -5/6+b

23/6 = b

y= 5/6x + 23/6

use Y=mx + b

m=the slope

b=the y-int

so plug in 5/6 for m

and plug in -1 for x and 2 for y

solve for b and u get:

b= 17/6

Find the equation of the line and then set the y-value equal to zero…then solve for x.

use the equation y=mx+b; where y=2 and x= -1. “M” is where you plug in your slope.

solve the equation for “b”.. which is your y-intercept.

good luck =)

Omg, I did that last year in math and I hated it. I have no idea how to do this.
