Even the smallest favor done in the name of friendship means you are giving because you truly care for that person. You do it because it is the right thing to do. But if you are forced to do something, you will end up resenting the recipient and whoever forced you to do a good deed. It will not be given in the manner in which it is intended. Therefore, I would rather receive a small deed out of friendship than a deed from someone who is forced to do it. Love vs resentment? I would choose love anytime!

It means that if you do something from the heart, no matter how small, it is greater than a very large thing that is done without love or sincerity. For example, say a person who lives on a modest income donates $50 to a charity that they really support and believe in. Another very wealthy person gives $1,000 to a charity that they picked out of a hat because they felt obligated to do so. The person who gave the small amount was more sincere in his action and therefore, the action has more value.

It means that something small that someone does willingly for you because of their friendship to you is much more valuable than someone doing something huge for you because they have to. It’s the act of doing something of your own free will that makes it more valuable.

It feels much more gratifying when you do it then when someone tells you to do something.Noone is ever happy when they feel they are obligated to do something. Its all about doing it on your own.
