Envy is an emotion that readily reveals itself when we see the prosperity of another. Even infants display envy and jealousy before they seem to understand other complex emotions such as hate. It often It is easier to envy those that we are close to, who we should be most happy for, than it is to envy those in the general population; this is made evident when examining sibling rivalry.

Though suppressible, envy often forefronts itself in the mixed emotions we feel when faced with others’ success. Envy often leads to self blame and a roller-coaster of other emotions pathological to both the person who feels the envy and the object of envy.

However, envy is not necessary as shameful and dangerous as it is always perceived to be. Envy may encourage healthy competition and drive us to strive and flourish. This essay will explore the possible reasons for , benefits and consequences of envy.

*(for the remainder of the essay you could say what other people think about envy, such as poets because the essay is based on a quote, and give your own opinions.)

This is quote is suitable if it’s the main idea. But perhaps you might want to add a little more action to the intro to make it more exciting to read.
