Well when taking notes you can learn to type a lot faster than you can write so like I said before you can look at your teacher while typing exactly what they are saying, without getting lost or leaving a sentences out. It helps a lot with taking notes. Also when you get to college and even in high school, you can use it as a job. I have typed so many papers for so many people (which i get paid for) since they type so slow, and need the paper written ASAP, and plus I have a copy of the paper on my computer (Hey I typed it, lol) to use as a references to base other papers on.

It is a great quality to help you in the growing technology based world as well. You will eventually use it, whether next week, next year, or 10 years down the road.

Also, in this day and age where computers are used in everything we do, and with our get-it-done-fast mentality, touchtyping is practically a required in almost every industry!
