There are many reasons.
1) they are a huge distraction
2) teachers/adults think they are an unnecessary expense
3) txting makes it easy to cheat on a test
4) it decreases the number if words you can spell
5) they are too loud in public
6) it is rude when people’s phones ring in public
7) disruptive
There are a lot more but thats all i could think of
