I liked the social interaction as well as learning things. Granted, sometimes it can be a bit boring with subjects that you are just not interested in but still, without an education you’d be lucky to work at the grocery store. I know several grocery stores in my area that require you have a GED or a diploma before you can work there. As far as the teachers not helping you, are you even trying? Many people are turned off by those who refuse to try or to help themselves. Basically, why should they try and help you if all you are wanting is the answers and not wanting to actually learn the material. If you are sincerely trying, then, read the material, make a list of what you don’t understand, and then try to meet with the teacher sometime before or after class and have him or her explain it to you. The best approach is something like “Okay, I understand this part, but I’m am having trouble grasping the concept in this area. Could you please explain it to me more?” With this type of approach you are showing that you are in fact trying to learn the material and just aren’t getting certain aspects of it. I’m sure if you ask a teacher this way, he or she will be more than willing to help you.

Use your own initiative– get to the school library and explore the world thru books. If the school sucks remember EDUCATION itself does not suck.

Talk to a counselor– but don;t complain — tell her or him WHAT your goals are and ask for guidance in reaching them– you DO want to get out into the world after you graduate HS and get ahead and know how to interact with people and know how to balance a budget, don’t you?

And READ– and join clubs — learn how to identify trees and flowers and birds — it IS fascinating, and it’s part of the world you were born into — it’s your Birthright — –trust me. Life is an adventure — find out why.

My schools were not that hot either in some aspects — it’s what i brought into it that made me learn and want to learn — and my Mom also tutored her kids becuz she knew that NO school system was perfect.

You must not do much in your life. When you GROW UP, you’ll see how important it is to have an education. Unless you like having the government take care of you.

Wait til you get out in the real world. You might appreciate school then.
