oh, you mean Sharpies! I was like what’s shapies? lol.

Anyways, I don’t really think that Sharpies are that bad, unless you get the King-Sized one. Besides I think some schools do ban them because of graffiti being written on bathroom walls.

I do get the sharpie minis and bring them to school, but no one ever says anything about them at my school.

I think most of the schools that ban them it has more to do with graffiti problems and being used as a weapon (yeah they worry over silly things like that).

You can sniff Magic Markers too and they’re stronger. But like anyone can tell you if you want to hurt or huff you’ll find a way. You can’t ban everything. Common sense should prevail. Usually though it doesn’t.

If the real dangers were taught it would do more to make a difference. One girl I met had huffed most of her life thinking it was safer than other highs. Her beautiful baby girl was born with webbed fingers and toes, one lung and a underdeveloped heart. There was no genetic history involved.

When I was a kid, kids huffed underarm deodorant, gasoline, glue, you name it. You were told not to but never the dangers. You can only protect people so much. That’s why education in the real dangers is so important. Instead they either give none or exaggerate them so much it’s not believed, which is just as bad. Reefer Madness in the 60s did more to promote pot smoking than stop it, it was so ridiculous. Cigarette info is getting almost as bad.

But the point is take away something w/o serious just cause people will find a way to get it. While those who need it suffer w/o it. My son who has learning disabilities found he enjoyed and writing and drawing were easier with the kind of tip found on ultra fine sharpies. Yet had to wait for senior high to have them at school because they could be used as a weapon. Yet was threatened to be beaten by another kid with a skateboard that was acceptable to bring to school.

Again what the world needs is education and common sense. Not more bans.

It depends some states have the sharpie markers that have a scent to them. Don’t know what states. Schools use them for grading papers and hands ons in school projects. Such a banners for home sport events, and much more.

I do see the issue of the them being bad of someone getting, thats if they over do it. what will are school and unveristes think of next?
