Definitely go up to someone and ask if you can sit with the. Was their anyone else new that came in with you? try sitting with them, because they should have sympathy with you since you were both new. Or, don’t even ask, just sit down where there is space and jump into the convo. Only if the people are nice. Because if they are mean, they will call you out, and you don’t want that. Don’t freak out about it, though I know its hard not to do. But if you are thinking about it too much, you wont be able to think straight, and while someone could be being really nice, you could be taking it the complete wrong way. So try and relax, ok?

yep, I agree with the first answer. But also you can try to see if there is anyone else who doesn’t seem to know anyone and is looking around for a place to sit at lunch. Just talk to that person. Trust me, many people go to high school and are in the exact same situation. You will meet people. Just come up and say hi and ask if you can sit with them, and chances are they will say sure! And then ask them what classes they are taking and so on. And even if you don’t like them too much, after a couple of weeks you will find new friends and sit with them!

You should get to know a few people in the class you have right around lunch – tag along and say, “Hey, where you sitting? Can I sit with you today?” You’ll make some new friends soon!

Try befriending people that you weren’t already friends with–people that are in your classes or in your lunch period. Just walk up and say “Hi. I’m _____.” If they don’t want to talk to you, oh well, but you might make some really awesome friends.
