what should i bring and do on the first day of the school?
Favorite Answer
Say hello to your teacher, and ask where you should sit. Sometimes teachers have a seating chart, and want you to sit at a certain desk. Some teachers let you choose. If you get to choose, sit towards the front of the room, so you can see and hear well.
Most students carry a bookbag to school. School cultures are different – some schools have students carry their bags, others put their bag in their locker in the morning. Watch and see what other students are doing.
Bring a pen and pencil to class, a folder for papers, and some lined paper to write on. Your teachers will tell you what you need to bring everyday, and they will give you a textbook. Sometimes they will not give you a textbook on the first day, so don’t worry.
Lunchtime can be a little crazy. Many students are in the lunchroom, and not everyone knows where to sit on the first day. If you have a class right before lunch, ask a friendly person where they will sit, and ask if you can join them. Or, you could go to the lunchroom and look around for some friendly faces. You can walk up to them and ask if you can sit there. They will say yes, and you can eat with them. Say hello, tell them your name and where you are from. Make small-talk the best you can.
It will be confusing for a little while! But it will get better. There are clubs and activities after school you can join. Watch for posters in the hallways, and announcements at school for different activities. Try to participate in some new things. Have fun, and enjoy your time here!
i always like to take just a few notebooks to school on the first day and a folder to get the sylabi.
