FUN, everyone hates having to sit there and take notes all the time. Yeah sometimes thats what needs to be done but there shoudl be a variation. For example do the work for an hour then have a fun quiz where they can split into teams and ask questions about the topic that they’ve been doing and the winning team gets a prize or no homework.

Also i found it helped alot when teachers would say you could bring a cd in and when it was time to just sit and work we could have the music playing. It’s also really not nice when they aren’t allowed to talk at all, it tends to make them want to rebel and they concentrate more on trying to find ways to commicate with eachother i.e through notes than actually doing the work.

The best motivation that i think they have for doing well and actually trying is liking the teacher, if the lesson is fun and the teacher shows them respect then i think they are alot more motivated to do well for them.

Thats what i was like anyway!

Enjoyment – making something fun or interesting is the best motivation for learning at any age. How to actually do that is a whole different question…!

Motivation that is inherently interesting and relies on the person or class background is the best.

As a secondary stundent I might be abe to help. Ask them what they want to do and make it interesting but also vary what you do
