What are High school ID’s used for?
Favorite Answer
Of course, the real bonus is that places that offer student discounts require your ID as proof. I wouldn’t just carry it at school, but all the time. I did – my MS, HS and now my University ID. You never know when you’ll get a discount or even more important, when you’ll be required to show two forms of photo ID.

Another helpful answer, then an odd one.
****Helpful answer****
If you don’t have a driver’s license or a state ID, your photo school ID will help you get through checking in at an airport and through the security lines without hassles or missing your flight.
A photo ID has always been required at the airport, but now in post 9/11, this requirement is enforced.
An odd answer. The student identification number, on your photo ID, or in a hidden way associated with your photo ID, is used to track you.
“Keys and ID!!”
****Odd answer****
In some states, it’s been this way for years. In the era of No Child Left Behind, it’s coming to all states.
What will “they” track? Through your student ID?
The classes you take. Your grades. Maybe your lunch and book fees.
Your test after test after test after test scores.
And quite possibly, your student ID will be used to compare what you do after high school with the classes you took, the job experiences you had, all your official, approved school activities. Eventually, “they” will see what works, what worked, to make you as successful as you will become.
With that information, “they” will have more information with which to decide what courses, job experiences, and activities future students should take and have.
I suspect your student ID will be linked with your social security number.
“They” are watching!!

The ID is a simple way to distinguish the people that should be in school with someone that may be there for the wrong reasons.
