head in the clouds

UGH, I just don’t want to go to school tomorrow…?

And it’s not like the first day of high school or anything…I’m going to be a junior. But still, this is nerve-racking. Does everyone feel this way before/on the first day of school? Why am I afraid? I just don’t want to go!! =[

Yea, I’m like that too. This year is going to be much worse than most for me because I’m starting high school. I still have a week though (by law we can’t start till after Labor Day) I don’t really become myself until a week or two in (it depends) when I settle in and know the teachers and stuff. Good Luck!

Don’t worry too much. I’m pretty sure everyone has those first day jitters occasionally and its completely normal. Im a sophmore and I started school 8-17-07 and I was a little on edge the day b4 and the morning of, but by the end of the 1st class I was cool. You Are Not Alone!!!

Maybe you should just make a quick check that you have everything you’ll need & you look okay 4 the big day and after that relax. There is no sense in worrying cuz you never know what will happen. If you are religious maybe you can pray or meditate or talk to someone, whatever helps. JUST CHILL!

Even if you’re still freaked out tomorrow pretend its okay, no one will know unless you let them know. Ask 4 help when you need it and stay calm. I bet that by the end of the day you’ll be okay enough to say “That was easy!” lol 🙂 Have a great first day!

It’s completely normal to feel nervous and anxious about the first day of school. I am a teacher. Believe it or not, teachers get nervous before the first day of school too. I always try to stay positive about the coming year, but I am always worried that I’m going to have a student that just really gets to me. Or, I worry about parents and what they’ll think. This year, I am teaching an honor’s class for the first time. I don’t want to let my students and parents down. Well…I rambled a bit, but just understand that almost everyone feels anxious about the first few days. Once you are there for a few days, you’ll be fine. And…even if something disappointing does happen, you’ll still be fine, and you’ll move on. Take comfort in the fact that you are not all alone!

amen! hahah i’m also going to be a junior. and i never feel like going to school. but thats outside the point.

i sometimes have the jitters one the first day of school. it means that there’s gonna be another year of drama and people doing this and that. homework (which is never a plus). teachers that i don’t like, so on and so forth. but i feel like whenever i see my friends (who i wasn’t able to see during the summer) all that angst and jitter stuff like goes away.

don’t worry about junior year as a whole. that just makes life harder. take it one day at a time. first day is always the worst, but the second is bound to be better.

hope you get over the “first day as a junior nerve racking” feeling.

I feel exactly the same way, though I’m going to be a sophomore and it’s going to be my first day of high school. I think its okay to be nervous, things are going to be different from your sophomore year and maybe you are afraid of change. Sitting out of school for summer vacation can make you forget what school is like, and going back in the fall is like starting all over again.

I was happy the first day of my junior year you get to take senior pictures and plan for prom and stuff. This is the year that colleges really count so you really need to work hard maybe thats why you dont want to go. Be happy i miss high school and time flies so take advantage of everything.

My son is a teacher and after teaching for several years he’s feeling the same way not wanting to go to school tomorrow. He has to face all the children that don’t want anything from school but to see their friends, write on the walls, desks, mirrors, books, etc. The problem with him is he wants the children to learn the wonders of the grade and subject he teaches. Some portion of them don’t want to even learn the language of the land and become offended if asked to do so. Some of them just want to listen to music about ho’s and bitches and swear. The few that do want to learn are prevented from it by the interruptions of the others. I suspect that after a few more years he will quit teaching just like I did because the support of the parents, government and the children themselves is not there. So “UGH, I just don’t want to go to school tomorrow …..” is the lament of a lot of teachers as well. My advice to the children who don’t want to go is declare yourself as an emancipated adult, get a GED, and go to work. Forget school.

I think everyone gets a little nervous but thats normal. Just go and do the best you can. What I love about school is looking forward to the weekends and breaks and when they come, you forget all about school.

I think it’s just normal because you don’t know if you have classes with your friends or not, or if you have bad teachers. At my school, we don’t get our schedules until the first day of school, and the homerooms are posted on the walls so everyone’s in a rush to get to their homeroom and go find their friends. I’m really nervous but I’m excited to see my friends. I’m going into 9th grade, but the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades are all in one school so I know where I’m going.
