You can major in basket-weaving. Your subjects do not matter as long as you have a 4 yr degree.

What matters are your hours. Get your private license and then your commercial. After a couple hundred hours you can start flight training for a school and build up from there. Get instrument and multi-engine certified, then you can move to a small delivery carrier or weather service. Get up to a thousand hours and get your ATP license. After a couple thousand hours the airlines will start looking at ya.

Yes, it HAS to be Math and also a lot of Physics. Physics will prepare you for the Aeronautical Physics course later on, among other courses – if you choose to be a pilot. 🙂
