there are ….dead word?

ok my techer said i cant use the word THERE ARE…what other word i can use to replace there are?

The problem with “There are . . .” is that you are not stating the subject of the sentence up front. Rather than substituting a word, begin with the subject.

For example, “There are many animals in the zoo,” could be revised into the stronger sentence, “Many animals live in the zoo.” Beginning with the subject also encourages the use of an action verb.

Original: There are now computer courses offered by many high schools.

Revised: Many high schools now offer computer courses.

There are is using what’s called passive voice. You want to keep your written English as active as possible, so you can substitute there’re, a conjunction.

Instead of saying something like “There are apples on the table,” say “Apples are on the table.” You just need to say it in a more active voice.
